| Breaking News | | Friday, September 3rd, 2032: Red Sox Delis to Miss One Week A blow for Ernesto Delis today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss one week with a tight bicep muscle. Delis suffered the injury throwing the ball. Although officials from the Boston Red Sox are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Delis's ability to return fully fit this year with an injury of this nature.
So far this year in 131 games Delis is hitting .281 with 32 home runs, 96 RBIs and 109 runs scored. He has 146 hits in 519 at-bats, 78 walks and a .380 OBP. | | Saturday, August 14th, 2032: Partida Smacks 5 Hits for Rangers It was a big day with the bat for Harvey Partida of the Texas Rangers at Nolan Ryan Park as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Boston 18-10.
To the press after the ballgame he modestly said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today -- Bingo! -- 5 hits in 6 tries! But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story."
At the end of the game Partida had collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Rangers had won.
The beat writers were happy, too. They had their big story -- they could write about his big day with the bat.
H. Partida struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off L. Grey in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
In 71 games Partida is hitting .243 this season for the Rangers with 42 hits, 4 home runs, 21 RBIs, 9 walks, .281 OBP and has scored 16 runs . | | Friday, August 13th, 2032: Homer #300 for Boston's Mills Boston's outstanding first baseman Jerald Mills joined the 300 Club today at Fenway Park with a booming blast in the Red Sox win over the Rangers. They topped Texas 8-6.
On his milestone day Mills had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.
Tongue-in-cheek he told the press, "Don't tell me when I get close to the next milestone. Just tell me after I reach it. It will be easier to hit that way."
Lifetime Mills has hit for a .299 average and totaled 1576 hits, 300 home runs and 1034 RBIs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 82-80, .506 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 10.0 GB | | Record at home | 39-41, .487 PCT | | Record on the road | 42-39, .519 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 7-6, .538 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 24-19, .558 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 30-32, .484 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 52-48, .520 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 4-6, .400 PCT | | Record in March | 1-0, 1.000 PCT | | Record in April | 11-15, .423 PCT | | Record in May | 14-12, .538 PCT | | Record in June | 16-11, .593 PCT | | Record in July | 16-9, .640 PCT | | Record in August | 11-16, .407 PCT | | Record in September | 13-13, .500 PCT | | Record in October | 0-4, .000 PCT |
